Alain has 18 years experience as a venture capitalist with 6 successful technology exits under his belt. Additionally he brings 14 years of industrial & entrepreneurial experience at leading blue chip organisations and his own start-up founded in Berlin.
Alain Gavin joined Karista in March 2022 and is based in London as part of the Karista SpaceTech investment team, investing across Europe. He has been involved in the DD and investment decisions of the investments made by the SpaceTech fund to date.
Prior to joining Karista, he was at Seraphim Capital, a leading SpaceTech & drone fund manager.
He specializes in SpaceTech, drones and MobilityTech. At Schott (corporate venture arm), Pall Mall & PSION he led or co-led 24 investments and served on several start-up boards including Tarmin and Finalogic. Fluent in English, French and German, he has an extensive network of entrepreneurs, investors and specialist funds to originate and close proprietary investments.
Alain holds a Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nottingham Trent University (1990) and an MBA from London Business School, Sloan (2004). He is also a Chartered Engineer (1998).
